Bio

Born Leah Gezellia Timpani to Italian /English parents, in Rochdale. Valentino King has become one of the most successful Drag Kings in Europe today.

At the age of 12 with a passion for jazz and blues Gizell began to pursue her dream of becoming a performer. The saxaphone was the platform for her to form a quartet by the name of Wild Orchid.

Her musical career went from strength to strenth resulting in Gizell going solo and performing at home and abroad in venues including the Winter Gardens Blackpool.

After begining a career as a professional female solo artist , Gizell began to look at different areas of performance art.

"I was intrigued and slightly envious of the Drag Queens in respect of their open creative expression.

With this in mind I began to explore the possibilities of myself being accepted as a transgender performer.

I wanted to create an alter ego to rival any queen. "

With research into past Drag Kings and the king culture itself, Valentino slowly developed his act to offer audiences something a little different to what they had seen before.Valentino still raises the bar each time he takes to the stage and proudly declares....

"My act as a drag king focuses on performing as a convincing male vocalist with the delivery of a totally live performance."

Success took Valentino to Europe and Greece in particular , where Valentino King developed his act to rival any Drag artist today...

Since returning to the Uk, Valentino has been re introducing the Drag King culture to audiences nationwide.

Venues including The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, London and Via Manchester who have played host to Valentino.

Gay prides including Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool have all been stunned by Valentino's effortless performance.

Valentino's charity work has supported numerous events accross the Uk working with charities such as The George House trust in trying to raise awareness with Hiv and Aids.

The one thing that strikes you the most about Valentino is the connection he has with his audience.

Valentino as humble as ever declares, " My audience is the most integral part of my performance.
